When I was a little girl we used to sing this song…Give thanks with a grateful heart; Givethanks to the Holy One; Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son/ Andnow, let the weak say “I am strong”. Let the poor say “I am rich” because ofwhat the Lord has done for us
I still love it…so simple and true and this year as welook back at all we are thankful for I can’t help but think about the year it’sbeen and ultimately all my thanks has to go back to the one who created it all, whose love sustains me and whose plan I trust in for the future.
I’m thankful for so many things this year…here is just a sample…
For friends who stick by you through good, bad and ugly. Whomourn with you, who laugh with you, who jump up and down screaming on buseswhen you have much to celebrate.
For family who fly out to see you in times of tragedy, who laughwith you walking down the streets of Paris, who pray with you when you callthem at midnight in a flood of tears.
For a boyfriend who seeks God in all his decisions, who waiteduntil the right time and the right away to ask me out, and who values my heartso much that I can feel secure.
For a church where we keep the main things the main thing, where the ONE is still the most important and where Jesus remains at the centre.
There is so much more to be thankful for but I will keep itshort…and continue my morning tradition that I began every year…
Each morning, before even getting out of bed I thank God forone thing and ask Him for wisdom and love for that day…I challenge you to trysomething like that…it’s really changed the way I live each day.
